Having gone through about 5 years of close to losing my husband,

hours of research, many exhausting therapies when I had problems of my own, depleted me. Oh, I am grateful. Give thanks daily, and more but it's often like a drop in a poisonous bucket 🪣, not

changing anything. But keeping failure at bay, and that, in and of itself is empowering. When the 'signs' point to 'the end', and we

continue on, that is blatant victory in the face of evil.

Certain 'mantras' help. One is, as you said 'thank you'.

Thank you for bringing us into victory. As in all battles,

we're exhausted, and nerves are fraught.

Keep us saying 'thank you' for all You did to enable us to win.

Because we've won now. Now we're frazzled, edgy but it's understandable.

Blessings to all.

Thank you, Megan, and during these very tough times, politically, and so on, I pray we all stay focused on

The Good 👍 👌 🙌. I actually think, we CAN go

either way, staying up or going down. Do you?

How is your city doing with drugs, homelessness?

I kind of think many 'gave up'?

My perspective... we are always growing with each other. The despair of some gives us an opportunity to remember our own times of hurt and consider how we may contribute to relief. We all have our small, beautiful ways to share compassion. It can be a smile, handshake, a donation, a cup of tea. May our own challenges always remind us of our capacity to understand the challenges of others. Love!

I find myself in an area with poisonous air blown from Quebec wildfires, outdoor activities curtailed in the interests of health, alone at home. I am grateful for a house with glass windows I can close, and the electronic news that warns me. Working on "what can I learn from this?" Praying for those with worse air and fewer resources. Thank you is a good base attitude to work from.

I learned from the Buddhist tradition 'this is because that is...' Sometimes, it can be helpful to see how this and that join forces to become this precious life. Thank you for taking time to read and comment!

Vital insight.

We actually have the gift to be able to control our attitude.

How important is attitude?

In comparison, emotions/feelings or mindsets can be tumultuous or at least capricious.

But attitude is subject to our control, decisions; and therefore has stability.

Seems clear that attitude trumps mindset or state of mind.

For example; happiness, sadness, excitement, depression, anxiety, are states of mind and based on externals.

Whereas attitude is malleable in that we have the choice and power to alter it according to inner desires or perceptions. In other words, attitude can be altered to configure our standards, ethics, morals, logic, understanding, and reasoning.

Happiness and even cheerfulness can be based on fantasy or denial or temporal situations and circumstances.

Attitude is a decision or choice that gives stability especially in the face of reality.

Attitude forges behaviour which can be our main representation or contribution to a world in turmoil - especially if our attitude is based on being thankful regardless of situation or circumstance.

And THAT might even be related to the "sacrifice" of praise.

The list of blessings fir which to be thankful is astounding - very long.

Thank you for this thoughtful response. Our agency in the matter of attitude is so important. And we can guide our thoughts to impress upon ourselves the attitude that is worthy of our intentions. I think of the teaching in Philippians 4:8... 'whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are lovely and of good report; if there be any virtue, if there be any praise, think of these things.'

We are so fortunate to have so much calling for our thanks. Sending love and appreciation to you for taking time to read and respond!

Going through some mental times as I grow older this year. I will be 65 and sometimes I get down about it but I wake up everyday giving thanks to God for letting me be here. I find when I sit and relax and breathe it makes me realize how thankful I am.

Thank you Megan much love
